2009 sees the birth of a new association in London, namely the London & International Insurance Brokers Association (LIIBA). LIIBA has been formed as a standalone organisation to represent London brokers, specialising in international wholesale business. In many ways its creation is a mirror image of IUA – in that we represent members in the same business and are distinct from a national association due to our London-centric interests.
LIIBA used to be the London Market Brokers Committee of BIIBA and IUA is an association of London and International companies some of whom are members of the ABI.
We find our relationship with ABI to be complementary. We each have our specific areas of the industry to cover and work together where necessary for example where a unified industry voice to Government is most effective.
IUA looks forward to working with LIIBA. It should be a seamless transition as we already work with their staff and members on many initiatives to improve London’s efficiency and attractiveness to clients.
